Wilkinson Co-hosts Ag Summit in Perry, GA

Sen. John Wilkinson of the 50^th District, which includes Hart and Franklin counties, along with Rep. Tom McCall co-hosted the Joint Agriculture Chairman Ag Issues Summit in Perry Tuesday.

 Legislators joined with agriculture community advocates to listen and learn on a variety of topics, including: Georgia Agriculture Sales Tax Exemptions, Federal immigration reform, regional water planning and commercial driver’s license farm exemptions.

Afterwards, Wilkinson said he was thankful for all those who participated in the summit.

Wilkinson said turn out was great and fostered a productive discussion on agriculture issues facing Georgia.

He said by sharing ideas more responsible legislation can be created to promote agriculture growth in the state.

The meeting was sponsored by Georgia Agribusiness Council, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Forestry Association, Georgia Poultry Federation and Georgia Urban Ag Council
