Week Two of Advance Voting Begins Today for Presidential Preference Primary

Today marks the start of week two of Advance Voting ahead of the Presidential Preference Primary on March 12.

As of Friday afternoon, 164 voters had cast early ballots in Franklin County according to Elections Supervisor Tracie Creason.

Voters in Franklin County who choose to vote early will go to the Board of Elections & Registrations office on the Royston Highway in Carnesville.

Hart County Elections Supervisor Robin Webb said more than 311 people had voted in early there as of Friday afternoon.

Voters in Hart County can cast an early ballot at the Board of Elections office on Cade St. In Hartwell.

There will also be one last Saturday early voting day this Saturday, March 2 from 9a to 5p.

Early voting ends Friday, March 8.

For those mailing in a paper Absentee Ballot, you have until this Friday, March 1, to request an absentee ballot application.

Absentee ballots must be turned in to your local elections office by 7p Tuesday, March 12.

Voters are choosing between four Republican candidates and two Democratic candidates.

On the Republican side, four of the 11 candidates still in the race for President include former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Ryan Binkley, and US Air Force Reserve pilot Major David Stuckenberg.

On the Democratic ticket, Incumbent President Joe Biden, Jr. Is being challenged by Congressman Dean Phillips.

Also, precinct cards have gone out and when you receive yours, you need to check and make sure all of your information is correct.

If you have moved or you find errors on the card, you need to contact your local Board of Elections office and notify them as soon as possible.
