Voters Go to Polls Today for Warnock-Walker U.S. Senate Run-off

After the record-breaking turnout last week for advance in-person voting, today Georgians across the State are going to the polls to decide who will win a six-year term for the Georgia U.S. Senate seat now held by incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock.

Warnock assumed office on January 20, 2021, filling the unexpired term of former Senator Johnny Isakson who died in December 2019.

Warnock is running against Republican challenger and former football star Herschel Walker.  Neither received the required 50% plus 1 vote to win the seat in the November 8 Election.

Election offices across the State are expecting another heavy turnout today.

Advance voting turnout last week was heavy all across the State as well as here in Franklin and Hart Counties.

Over 2,500 people had cast early ballots at the Board of Elections Office in Carnesville and 206 absentee paper ballots had been returned of the 386 sent out as of last Thursday night.

In Hart County, Elections Supervisor Robin Webb said over 3,800 in-person early ballots had been cast last week with over 300 absentee paper ballots returned out of the 460 sent out.

Voters today will go to their regular precinct polling places to cast their ballots. Polls close at 7p this evening.

WLHR News will post the results of today’s run-off after the polls close.
