In Franklin County, they will also be deciding on whether to continue the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or e-SPLOST.

Franklin County Elections Supervisor Gina Chappalear says anyone who needs to register before the Primary only has six days left to do so.

“If you want to vote in the March 1st Presidential Preference Primary you must be registered to vote by Monday, February 1st,” she said.

There are a number of easy ways to register to vote.

You can go online to the Secretary of State’s web site, or go in person to your local Registrar or Board of Elections office and register in person or if you are a college student you can register on campus.

In order to register to vote you must be a citizen of the United States, be a legal resident of Georgia and of the County in which you wish to vote and be 18 years old.

Now if you are already registered to vote, but you have moved, you must notify your county Board of Elections and Registrations office because your voting precinct may have changed and they need to update your voting card.
