Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Lavonia RenFest

The call is out for volunteers to help with this year’s Renaissance Festival in Lavonia.

The City of Lavonia Downtown Development Authority in conjunction with Lavonia Main Street is sponsoring the RenFest which will be held Saturday, May 4 on the grounds of the old Moose Lodge across from Lavonia City Park.

DDA Executive Director Barbara Busby volunteers are needed to help in several areas.

This year’s theme is Pirates and Mermaids and Busby said they have a variety of theme-related live entertainment lined up for the Fest.

Additionally, Busby said there will be more Mermaids this year and a pirate ship for kids to climb on.

She added that there will be a wide variety of Renaissance-focused vendors and of course lots of good food.

Renfest takes place on Saturday, May 4 on property at the old Moose Lodge across from Lavonia City Park and there will be free parking at the American Legion Post.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and kids under 5 are free.
