U.S. Rep. Collins to Hold Technical College Roundtables

U.S. Rep. Doug Collins is spending of the August District Work Period touring Ninth District technical colleges and hosting a series of roundtable discussions on job creation and workforce development.

As a former member of the Board of Trustees at Lanier Technical College, Collins places high priority on these schools, which help fuel the economic engine of Northeast Georgia.

All this week, Collins will be getting input from students, school administrators, and local employers concerning the needs of Georgia’s technical college programs, in addition to reforms they would like to see enacted on the federal level.

This week, Collins will at Lanier Tech in Oakwood on Wednesday from 8:30a – 10a, then later he will visit Athens Tech from 11a – 1p and finally North Georgia Tech in Clarkesville from 2:30p – 4p.

Collins tells WLHR News technical colleges are helping put Northeast Georgia’s economy back on track, and the federal government needs to do whatever necessary to make sure that continues.
