Two Indicted on Burglaries in Lavonia Mobile Home Park

Kelotrea BlackwellThe Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted two Lavonia men for burglaries at a Lavonia mobile home park.

According to the indictment, Kelotrea Wonyah Blackwell and Micah Dazwanya Moncrief were indicted on two counts each of felony burglary in the first degree.  It happened August 17th at 29 Teasley Lane in the Beaver Creek Mobile Home park in Lavonia.

“Some bystanders advised my investigators that they had seen an unidentified male running from the scene,” said Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle. “The only thing they knew him by was his nickname, Mario.” Michah Moncrief

Witnesses also said they saw a total of four teens running from the house to another house, 268 Beaverdam Circle in the same mobile home park, Carlisle said.

“A number of interviews were conducted, and it was determined a second house was broken into,” Carlisle said. “Investigators followed up on leads and were able to confirm that two adults and two juveniles entered both houses and took numerous items, including electronics, TV’s as well as a safe.”

Two other teens were also arrested in connection with the burglaries.  Their names have not been released because they are juveniles.
