Two Days Left to Vote Early Before Election Day

There are just two days left to advance vote ahead of next Tuesday’s General Election and voters continue to stream into local elections offices.

Franklin County Interim Elections Supervisor Tracie Creason said Wednesday morning they have had a historic turnout of early voters this election cycle.

“It has been great. We’ve had a wonderful turnout. We’ve had over 3,000 (early voters). That’s a big turnout, which we were expecting so we were prepared. However, we still have many voters out there who still need to get out and vote and exercise their right,” she said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 3,333 people had opted to early vote in Franklin County with 318 absentee paper ballots returned out of the 449 applications sent out.

But with over 16,000 registered voters in Franklin County, there are still many people still needing to cast their ballots.

That’s why Creason said they are expecting a huge turnout next Tuesday on Election Day.

And the new voting machines seem to be working well for voters.

Both Franklin and Hart counties have not reported any issues with the voting machines.

In Hart County as of Tuesday afternoon, Elections Supervisor Robin Webb said they have had 4,600 people cast early ballots at the Board of Elections office in Hartwell and 403 absentee paper ballots returned.

Early voting in Hart and Franklin Counties takes place from 9a to 5p through Friday.

There is no advance voting this Saturday or next Monday.
