Two Charged in Marijuana Growing Operation in Elbert County

7-24-2014-Grow-Room-Bust-2-250x163A search warrant executed by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office has two people facing manufacturing marijuana charges.

According to Elbert County Sheriff’s Investigator Terry Reese the search was conducted at a residence located off of Plantation Road.  Reese, who was one of the investigators at the scene, said officers found a door that led to an underground room.

“Investigators located a marijuana grow room, which was in an underground bunker, the entrance of which was in plain view on the property”, said Reese.

Once inside, Reese said they located several items linked to growing marijuana.

“Once investigators entered the grow room, we located approximately 92 grams of marijuana”, said Reese. “We also found pots, clay rocks, water system, timers, grow lights, fertilizers; those types of items.”

Arrested wsa 57-year-old Roger Adams.  Adams was charged with one felony count of Manufacturing Marijuana.

Also arrested was 33-year-old Craig Adams, who was also charged with one felony count of Manufacturing Marijuana.   At the time of the arrest Craig Adams was already incarcerated on charges out of Hart County.

Reese said the investigation continues and more charges are likely.
