Two Arrested in Bowman in ARDEO Drug Investigation

A search warrant at a home in Bowman Tuesday resulted in the arrest of two people on drug charges.

Sgt. Trent Hillsman with the GBI’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office tells WLHR News the search warrant was related to an ongoing, multi-jurisdictional drug investigation.

Hillsman said the investigation was conducted by the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office with the assistance of the Elbert, Franklin, and Hart County Sheriff’s Offices, the Department of Community Supervision, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

During the search, agents seized:

Approximately 3.16 pounds of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $107,400.00
Approximately 1.03 pounds of marijuana with an approximate street value of $9,380.00
One handgun
$52,010.00 in U.S. currency

Arrested was 54-year-old Connie Fowler of Elbert County.

Fowler is charged with the Sale of Methamphetamine, Trafficking Methamphetamine, and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

Also arrested was 40-year-old Richard Drake of Madison County.

He was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Fowler and Drake were taken to the Elbert County Jail following their arrest.

Hillsman said the investigation is ongoing.
