Today is the Last Day to Register to Vote for Presidential Preference Primary

Today is the last day to register to vote if you plan to vote in the March Presidential Preference Primary.

You can register to vote in several ways.

1. Online at the Secretary of State’s website at SOS.GA.GOV/elections.
2. At your local Board of Elections office
3. At your local Department of Driver Services office – ours is in Toccoa
4. Your local public library
5. And if a student, in person on your college campus

It’s also a good idea if you have not voted in the past couple of election cycles to make sure you are still on the voter rolls in your County.

You can do that by calling your local Elections office.

Additionally, beginning today, local election offices will begin mailing out absentee paper ballots to those who have applied for one.

Voters have been able to request absentee paper ballots for the March 12 Presidential Preference Primary since December 25. The last day to request an absentee paper ballot is March 1.

Voters will have until 7p March 12 to return absentee paper ballots to their local Board of Elections office in Franklin, Hart, or Stephens counties.

Advance voting for the Presidential Preference Primary begins next Monday, February 19, and continues through Friday, March 8.

If you have any questions about absentee paper ballots, voter registration, or advance voting, you can contact your local Board of Elections office.
