Toccoa Woman Charged After 30 Dogs Found in Her Home

A Toccoa woman faces charges of animal cruelty after authorities removed dozens of dogs and puppies from her home.

On Tuesday, Stephens County Sheriff’s deputies went to a home on Holly Springs Road after receiving complaints about dogs that were malnourished.

Once there, officers found about 30 dogs on the property.  When officers saw a dead dog inside the house, they obtained a search warrant. Once inside, about 30 dogs were found inside along with about a dozen puppies.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, faces animal cruelty and other felony charges.  All of the dogs and puppies have been taken to the Toccoa-Stephens County animal shelter.
