Toccoa to Celebrate Arbor Day February 17

The City of Toccoa will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, February 17.

The ceremony will be held at Paul Anderson Park at 10:00 am and the community is invited.

Arbor Day began in 1872 at the suggestion of J. Sterling Morton as a day set aside for
tree planting and conservation of the earth’s resources.

Toccoa has been a Tree City USA community since 2004.

Tree City USA is thriving in Georgia because of the strong partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the Georgia Forestry Commission.

Toccoa, Lavonia, Canon, and Royston are certified Tree City USA communities Georgia.
