Toccoa Police Announce More Charges, Arrests in Drug Sting

Toccoa Police and the Mountain Judicial Circuit N.C.I.S. Drug Team are announcing more charges filed in connection to Wednesday’s “Taking Back Toccoa” operation.

Police Chief Tim Jarrell says that police and the N.C.I.S. Team have filed additional charges against one person and new charges against two other people.

Jarrell says an additional charge of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute has been filed against 38-year-old Jerry Alexander.

Alexander had already been charged with Distribution of Marijuana.

Meanwhile, Jarrell says police also arrested 54-year-old Billy Clarence Roach and charged him with Possession of Marijuana Less than an ounce.

Finally, Jarrell says police arrested 41-year-old Jerry Woody and charged him with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute.

Jarrell says these additional charges came about as a result of the initial serving of arrest warrants Wednesday in connection to an undercover investigation of illegal drug activity at various hotel establishments in the city of Toccoa.

He goes on to say that the N.C.I.S. Drug Team has worked very hard in putting together this case.

“Because of the work they do, the men and women on the N.C.I.S. Team cannot be named individually,” said Jarrell. “I want to commend them on the hard work and hours they put into it.”

Jarrell said he especially appreciates the effort of the agent who led this investigation.

While making these additional arrests, Jarrell also says authorities seized $675 in cash and a 4-door Chevrolet Caprice.
