Toccoa Man Indicted for Murder of Lavonia Man

A Toccoa man has been indicted on murder charges in connection with a shooting last summer that left a Lavonia man dead.

Brodrique Simone Dixon 32, of Toccoa, has been indicted on one count of Malice Murder and one count of Felony Murder for the death of Christopher Deshun Tukes.

It happened on August 29th near Whitman Street Park in Toccoa.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, Stephens County 911 began receiving multiple calls reporting a shooting on Whitman Street in Toccoa.

When Toccoa Police Officers responded to the scene, they found two male victims injured from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police were able to perform CPR on one victim, Tukes, of Lavonia, who later succumbed to his injuries at Stephens County Hospital.

The second victim, identified as 34-year-old Scottae Martin, of Toccoa, was transported by EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Martin was treated for his injuries and later released from the hospital.

Dixon has also been indicted on two counts of Aggravated Assault on Tukes and Martin, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
