Three Face Charges in Royston in Vehicle Theft

Three people are facing charges in Royston after allegedly stealing a vehicle last weekend.

It happened Tuesday, January 9 when Royston Police received information from the Franklin Springs Police Department that they had received an alert that a stolen 2009 Dodge Challenger was traveling in Franklin Springs towards Royston.

An unmarked Royston PD officer spotted the vehicle in the Hardee’s parking lot and notified other responding units. He confirmed it was the stolen vehicle.

Officers from the Royston Police Department, Franklin Springs Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department surrounded the car and its occupants.

Inside the vehicle officers identified and arrested Keisha Covington of Royston, Quadri Parks of Eastanollee, and Joshua Starrett of Hartwell.

Also inside the vehicle, officers found a quantity of crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

All three occupants were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle as well as the methamphetamine.

Royston Police Chief Donnie Bolemon thanked officers for their fast action d superb cooperation of the three law enforcement agencies in securing the arrests.
