Three Arrested in Hartwell on Separate Charges

Hartwell Police have made several of arrests this week.

On Sunday officers arrested an Elberton man caught driving a stolen vehicle.

“Late Sunday afternoon, officers were investigating a wreck at the intersection of Howell and Athens Street,” Hartwell Assistant Police Chief Stan Sayer said. “As the investigation continued, the officers discovered one of the vehicle involved in the wreck a white 2007, Ford F-350 Super Duty pick up had been stolen out of White County.”

Arrested at the scene was 33-year old Craig Frank Adams of Elberton. Adams is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and remains in the Hart County Detention Center.

On Monday, Hartwell Police arrested a man wanted in Tennessee on a number of outstanding warrants.

“Officers spotted a vehicle operating erradically on Howell St.,” Sayer said. “The driver was driving the Chevy S-10 pick up recklessly and the officer tried to pull him over but he refused th stop.”

A chase ensued with assistance from Hart County Sheriff’s deputies and State Probation officers. At one point the driver tried to run police off the road. The driver was eventually captured five miles out of town on White Road.

He is identified as 30-year old Sammuel William Allison, address unknown.

Allison faces multiple charges including felony fleeing or attempting to elude, felony obstruction, assault on a police officer, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license.

Sayer said Allison is also wanted on outstanding warrants out of Tennessee.

Arrested with Allison was a woman identified as Olivia White. Charges against her are not known.

Both were taken to the Hart County Detention Center.
