Teen Indicted for Bringing Gun to Franklin County High School

The Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted a teen on two counts of bringing a weapon to Franklin County High School.

According to the indictment it happened Thursday, September 15 when Chase Alexander Nunn allegedly brought a Glock 17 9mm handgun within a school safety zone at the high school.

Nunn was also indicted on one count of possession of a handgun by a person under the age of 18.

WLHR News reached out to the school system to find out if Nunn is a student at the high school. Acting School Superintendent Chuck Colquitt said he could not comment.

This is the second time in the past month that a student in Franklin County was found to have a gun on a school campus.

In August, a Franklin County middle school student was caught by the school resource officer carrying an unloaded handgun in his bookbag.

The name of the student was not released because he is a juvenile.

At the time, Acting School Superintendent Chuck Colquitt said in that case, the student and the gun were reported to a teacher by concerned students.
