“Taste of Franklin” Tonight at Swails Center

“Arrggg,” it’s Talk Like A Pirate night tonight at the annual Taste of Franklin event in Franklin Springs.

Sponsored by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, spokesperson Aida Reynolds said the theme this year is Pirates of the Caribbean.

“We’re doing a Caribbean/Pirates of the Caribbean theme and because it’s a family event, we’re asking people to come dressed in a pirate or Caribbean costume,” Reynolds said. “We also will have a field drum band playing in the background to make it more festive and fun.”

Taste of Franklin takes place at 6p tonight at the Swails Center in Franklin Springs.  Reynolds said dozens of local restaurants will be represented so there will be lots of good food to choose from.

“We have vendors from throughout Franklin County, such as 211 Main St. and Mama Lynn’s in Lavonia and Bob’s Smalltown Grille in Royston, so we have a good variety,” Reynolds said.

Tickets are $20 for adults for all you can eat, $10 for children and kids under three eat free.
