Tabor Motor Company Building Sold

If you ever bought a Cadillac from or had your vehicle serviced at the old Tabor Motor
Company, you might remember trips to the old dealership in Toccoa. Stephens
County government has purchased the former Tabor Motor Company building on
South Pond Street. It will become the future location of the Stephens County Election
Office.

The decision was made during the recent Board of Elections and Registration for
Stephens County meeting.

The county paid $350,000 for the building.

County Administrator Phyllis Ayers says they’ll start working on a timeline for
renovations and security, but noted that the Elections Office will remain at its current
location inside the Historic Stephens County Courthouse until after the 2022 general
election.

Once the renovations are completed, Ayers says the plan is to use the new location
for all future elections—including both advance voting and election day voting.
