Sweet Combs of Honey in Lavonia Sponsors Pop-up Kitten Adoption Saturday

With the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia still closed because of parvo there are no cat or kitten, dog or puppy adoptions going on there right now.

That’s one reason why the Hart County Humane Society in conjunction with Sweet Combs of Honey in Lavonia is holding a Pop-up Kitten Adoption and Supply Drive event this Saturday.

Humane Society volunteer and Welcome Center Director Barbara Busby says the no-kill shelter currently has dozens of very adoptable kittens needing homes.

“With the shelter being closed because of a parvo case, we are overwhelmed with cats and kittens right now,” she said. “The Hart County Humane Society has over 200 kittens and cats in volunteer foster homes, currently.”

Not all of them are ready to be adopted but many are.

Busby said in addition to the kitten adoption, they are also asking for donations of supplies to help foster homes care for the cats and kittens.

The Hart County Humane Society also offers low-cost spay-neuter certificates so anyone who lives in Franklin or Hart County who needs to get their cat or dog fixed is invited to stop by Sweet Combs of Honey Saturday and purchase one for just $20.

Again, the Pop-up Kitten Adoption takes place Saturday at Sweet Combs of Honey in Lavonia from 10 to 2p.
