Student Vaccination Clinics Scheduled for Franklin County Middle and High School Students

The 2021-2022 school year is fast approaching and this year, the Franklin County Health Department and Franklin County School system will be providing back to school vaccines on-site at Franklin County Middle School and Franklin County High School.

District 2 Public Health Spokeswoman Natasha Young said Georgia now requires 11th-grade students to get their meningitis booster.  New incoming students from out of state must also be vaccinated for meningitis.

The Franklin County Health Department will be offering meningitis and Tdap vaccines for students.

They will also offer the COVID-19 vaccines for both students age 12 and up and for parents, but Young said that vaccine is optional.

The on-site vaccine events are scheduled for July 15 and August 4.

Students can get their meningitis booster at the Franklin County Middle School and High School next Thursday, July 15 from 1p to 4p.

Another vaccine clinic will take place on August 4, Open House day, from 11a to 12:30p at the Middle School and from 2p to 4p at the High School.

No appointments are required, and walk-ins are welcome.
