An Elbert County man is facing a felony theft by taking charge after being found in possession of two stolen recreational vehicles.

According to Investigator Darren Scarborough with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, a motorcycle and four wheeler were reported stolen from Bowman, GA around August 18th.

He says they received information Thursday on the stolen property that led them to a Cordell Road address.

“We went to the residence; there was a motorcycle and four-wheeler there, we knocked on the door and the lady who answered the door said the vehicles belonged to her son”, said Scarborough. “He came outside and we asked him, at which time he pretty much admitted he knew they were stolen.”

Arrested was 21-year-old Gregory Bryan Graham on one count of Misdemeanor Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and one count of Felony Theft by Taking.

Together the stolen four-wheeler and motorcycle were valued at well over four thousand dollars.

One thing Scarborough encourages Elbert County residents to do is keep information handy on any valuables that they own.

“Please write your VIN or Serial number down, that is the easiest way in the world for us to identify this stuff. If it does it gets taken, we can enter it into the computer to where if it shows up anywhere we can easily identify it”, explained Scarborough. “Please write those numbers down, it’s a big help if it ever gets taken.”

Graham was transported to the Elbert County Detention Center after his arrest, where he was later released on bond.
