Stephens County Jailer Charged With Child Molestation

Agents with the Georgia Bureau Of Investigation have arrested a Stephens County jailer on charges of aggravated child molestation.

According to a GBI press release, 57 year old Bobby Byargeon  of Toccoa was arrested Friday after a victim came forward and told authorities they had been molested by Byargeon for a year.

During their investigation, GBI agents searched Byargeon’s home  and then issued ten arrest warrants.  According to the press release, Byargeon has worked as a jailer in Stephens County for the past seven months.

He is being held in the Rabun County jail.  GBI officials call the investigation a cooperative effort with the Toccoa Police Department and the Stephens County Sheriff’s office.
