According to a GBI press release, 57 year old Bobby Byargeon of Toccoa was arrested Friday after a victim came forward and told authorities they had been molested by Byargeon for a year.
During their investigation, GBI agents searched Byargeon’s home and then issued ten arrest warrants. According to the press release, Byargeon has worked as a jailer in Stephens County for the past seven months.
He is being held in the Rabun County jail. GBI officials call the investigation a cooperative effort with the Toccoa Police Department and the Stephens County Sheriff’s office.
