State Insurance Commissioner Investigating Fatal Fire in Danielsville

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced that his office is working with Madison County authorities to determine the cause of a house fire that killed a Danielsville man.

It happened just after 6:00 a.m. on Sunday December 11.

A passing motorist reported a structure fire on Shiloh Fort Lamar Road.

Investigators were dispatched from the State Fire Marshal’s Office at the request of the Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department at approximately 7:15 a.m.

King said when his investigators arrived they found the thirty-nine-year-old, doublewide mobile home completely destroyed by a fire beginning on the right side of the structure.

The body of the victim was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy and positive identification.

King said the cause of the fire is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected at this time.

State fire investigators are working with the Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office on this case.
