St. Mary’s visitor reminder

St. Mary’s Healthcare is reminding visitors and patients of their updated visitation policy in light of the surge in COVID-19 cases.

 

To protect the safety of our patients and colleagues against COVID-19 and the flu, St. Mary’s continues to restrict visiting at all three hospitals, including St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

 

Instead, the hospital is encouraging loved ones to hold virtual visits with patients one using apps such as Facetime, Google Duo, Google Hangouts, Messenger, Skype and Zoom.

 

Persons with fever, cough, chills, sneezing/running nose or other symptoms of COVID or the flu should not visit until they’re well.

 

Visiting hours 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., 7 days a week.

Number of visitors     1 per patient per day.

Overnight visitors      One per patient.

Visitor age     18 or over. No children permitted at this time.

 

Visitors for patients with COVID -none except in rare circumstances if approved by clinical team.

 

Visitors for other non-COVID patients:

  • Must pass entrance screening
  • Must wear a mask at all times
  • Must leave the room during aerosol-generating procedures
  • May leave and return the same day
  • May not swap out with another visitor

Clergy Clergy are in addition to the 1 visitor permitted.

 

In the Emergency Department -1 visitor per adult patient, 2 for minors, depending on safety and capacity.  However, COVID patients in the Emergency Department may not have visitors.

 

In Outpatient services – 1 visitor permitted depending on safety and capacity.

 

Visitors are permitted in the Cafe’, Gift Shop and waiting areas
