SC Couple Indicted in Franklin County on 16 Charges

A South Carolina couple has been indicted on multiple drugs and other charges in Franklin County.

According to the indictment, 40-year-old Jason Lee Robinson and 41-year-old Dawn Lee Goff both from Winnsboro, SC were indicted on 16 counts, including Possession of Meth with Intent, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Bringing Stolen Property into the State, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, as well multiple traffic violations.

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas tells WLHR News that on Friday, February 23, a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop at mile marker 170 on I-85 NB on a 2016 Nissan for following too closely.

During the roadside interview, Thomas said both the driver and passenger demonstrated nervous behaviors, and he said other indicators brought the officer to believe that criminal activity was occurring inside the vehicle.

Thomas said his Deputy requested K-9 assistance from Banks County and when they arrived, their K-9 conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to drugs.

A probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle and deputies discovered approximately a ½ oz of methamphetamine, fraudulent credit cards, a stolen high-point 380 handgun, digital weighing scales, and a clear plastic baggie which all are consistent with drug distribution.

Both subjects were then placed under arrest and transported to the Franklin County Detention Center on a list of charges.

Bond for Robinson was set at $32,000.00 by the Franklin County Magistrate Judge.

Bond for Goff was set at $23,000.
