Royston to Host TAMS Concert This Weekend

The City of Royston is hosting its first-ever big-name concert this Saturday at the Royston Community and Wellness Park amphitheater.

R&B group The Tams will be in concert Saturday evening from 7p to 10p as part of Royston’s Celebration of Cities Week.

THE TAMS have been entertaining audiences for over 50 years.

Known for such hits as “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy”, “What Kind of Fool”, “I’ve Been Hurt” and “Untie Me “, The Tams have had Several Gold Records, and 1 Platinum Single.

“What Kind of Fool” hit #9 on the Billboard charts, and #6 on the R&B charts.

Royston Downtown Development Authority Michael Crump said it promises to be a fun evening and people are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or a blanket, a picnic basket, and a small cooler with non-alcoholic beverages.

Crump said, however, there will be adult beverages for sale on site.

And if you’d like to purchase food on site, he said there will be food vendors on site as well.

Again, the TAMS concert takes place Saturday at the Royston Community and Wellness Park Amphitheater beginning at 7p.

The concert and parking are both free.

Anyone with questions can contact Crump at the DDA Main Street office at 706-245-7577.
