Royston to Hold Public Hearing on Water Improvement Plan

The City of Royston will hold a public hearing on December 20 on their plans to make improvements to the City’s water system.

Royston City fathers want to hear from citizens and get their input.

Under Georgia’s Rules for Safe Drinking Water, Royston is obliged to comply with their requirements and with have public participation in the development of their improvement plans.

According to the public notice issued last week, improvements to the city’s water system are designed to keep the water system facilities in good working order and to maintain the regulatory requirements of the state and federal government.

During the public meeting, the City will attempt to identify public preferences for alternative methods of improving the City’s water facilities.

These alternatives will be evaluated and included in the City’s Preliminary Engineering Report, Preliminary Project Summary, and Environmental Information Document, which are available for public inspection at Royston City Hall during regular business hours.

Public participation is considered essential to the selection and development of the final plan to be adopted prior to its approval by the State of Georgia, Department of Natural Resources.

Again, the public hearing on improvements to Royston’s water system is scheduled for December 20 at 3p at Royston City Hall.
