Royston Man Charged in Stephens County With Drug Possession

A Royston man is facing multiple charges after an accident last week in Stephens County.

It happened about 6:30p Tuesday, March 24th.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley 47-year old Marty Hambrick of Royston drove his black 2003 GMC Sierra into an embankment at the intersection of Camp Road and Isbell Road in Eastanollee.

He was not injured.

Shirely said when a deputy questioned Hambrick, he became combative and tried to toss out suspected narcotics.

The deputy also smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Hambrick, according to the Sheriff.

Hambrick was arrested and charged with  was charged with Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and drugs, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule 3 narcotic, Obstruction of an Officer, Open Container, and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.

No word on whether Hambrick had a bond hearing.
