Search Begins for New Royston City Manager

The search for a new City Manager for the City of Royston begins this week.

Royston City Manager Sharleen Ayers submitted her resignation Friday, March 15 according to Mayor Keith Turman, and it was  “reluctantly accepted.”

The former Royston City Clerk and Finance Director, Ayers has been the City Manager since June 2022, succeeding Interim City Manager Gary Fesperman and City Manager Ed Andrews who retired in December 2021.

At last week’s called meeting the Mayor thanked Ayers for her service and said he hated to see her leave.

He said the City will begin advertising for the position this week.

In the meantime, he said all the departments will have to work together to fill the gap until a new City Manager is hired.
