Royston City Council to Meet Tonight

The Royston City Council will meet tonight for their regular monthly meeting – a week later than usual.

Royston City Clerk Sharleen Ayers tells WLHR News the city council meeting was pushed back a week in order to hold a public hearing on two zoning requests.

The first is by James Doyle who is asking the City Council to approve a rezoning of property on 360 Church St.

Doyle is requesting the property be rezoned from R-1 Residential to Highway Business District.

The Council and Mayor will also hear from Crystal Duck who is asking that an area in Royston be changed from Neighborhood Shopping District to R-1 Residential.

After the public hearing, the City Council will hold its regular meeting.

On the agenda, the Council and Mayor will get an update from Michael Crump on the Downtown Development Authority and events it is planning.

Mayor Keith Turman will also sign an Arbor Day proclamation.

Tonight’s meeting takes place at 6:30p at Royston City Hall.
