Reminder: Rabies Clinic Taking Place Saturday at Lavonia Ball Fields

A reminder that the venue for Saturday’s fall rabies clinic in Lavonia has been moved to the Lavonia Ball Fields on Bear Creek Road.

Jourdenais said she and another staff member at the shelter were notified this week by the Georgia Department of Public Health that they had each been exposed to COVID-19 recently.  And because of that, the shelter must stay closed to the public for 14 days.  During that time, the shelter will also be disinfected.

However, she said the decision was made to still hold the rabies clinic this weekend since it already had to be canceled once.

Rabies vaccines will be $5 for a one-year and $10 for a three-year.

Dog and cat distemper vaccines will also be available for $7 as well as microchipping for $20.

Again, Saturday’s rabies clinic will now take place at the Lavonia Ball Fields on Bear Creek Road from 10a to 2p.

Please have your dogs on a leash and your cats in a carrier.
