Read Across America Coming to Royston, Lavonia Libraries

Read Across America Week takes place the first week of March and to celebrate, Chick-Fil-A will be coming to both the Royston Public and Lavonia-Carnegie Libraries.

Read Across America runs from March 2 to 6 beginning on the birthday of the children’s books author Dr. Seuss.

Library Director Maggie West tells WLHR News that the Chick-Fil-A Baby Cow will be visiting each branch and a member of the CFA team will be reading stories, as well as handing out goodie bags for the children.

Chick-Fil-A will be at Royston Public Library on Thursday, March 2nd at 11:00 AM, and then at the Lavonia-Carnegie Library the following day, Friday, March 3rd at 4:00 PM.

Speaking to the Franklin County Board of Commissioners earlier this month West said attendance at both the Royston and Lavonia Carnegie Libraries is increasing with more and more people taking out books.

Additionally, she said the summer reading programs and story times at both libraries had record attendance last year.

Again, the Chick-Fil-A Baby Cow will be at Royston Public Library on Thursday, March 2nd at 11:00 AM, and then at the Lavonia-Carnegie Library the following day, Friday, March 3rd at 4:00 PM.

And a member of the CFA team will be reading stories, as well as handing out goodie bags for the children.
