Rabun County House Fire Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King says two Rabun Gap fires were intentionally set and have been ruled arson.

The two fires occurred at approximately 2:44 p.m. on February 25th at a residence on Wolffork Church Road.

The first fire heavily damaged the carport and left side of the residence. The perpetrator(s) also set a second fire that destroyed a workshop on the property.

King said his office is assisting the Rabun County Fire Department in their investigation and they are asking for the public’s help to find the person responsible for the fires.

In coordination with the State Fire Investigations Unit, a reward of up to $10,000 is offered by Georgia Arson Control for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
