Public’s Help Sought to Locate Burglary Suspect

The Hart County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help to solve a burglary.

It happened over Labor Day weekend at a home on the Liberty Hill Church Road.  Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland said a shed on the property was broken into and a number of large ticket items were taken.

“The shed was broken into and farm equipment was taken out of it,” Cleveland said. “It was expensive equipment, such as tools one would use to operate a business. The shed was close to the road and right now we don’t have much information to go on.”

Total value of the stolen items is just under $8,000.

Cleveland said anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area over the Labor Day weekend is asked to contact his office.

“As always, with a burglary of this magnitude, we would appreciate some help and could round up some reward money if somebody has some information leading to an arrest,” Cleveland said. “It’s just a bad thing when somebody has tools trying to make a living working with their hands and somebody steals and sells them for little or nothing.”

Anyone with information can call the Hart County Sheriff’s office at 706-376-3114.  You do not have to give your name.
