Public Meeting Set on Franklin Co Planned Water System Improvements

Franklin County Commissioners want to hear from the public regarding the County’s plans to make improvements to the County water system.

The improvements are part of the County’s plan to prepare for residential, industrial, and commercial growth.

A public meeting will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 2p at the Carnesville Community Center on Hull Avenue.

During the public meeting, the Board will go over the reasons for the need to make improvements to the water system and hopefully receive input from citizens on what improvements should be made.

Some of the planned improvements include well repair and development, new intergovernmental agreements, storage tank repairs, and additions, and water distribution main renovations.

The cost and how the County plans to pay for those improvements are also expected to be outlined during the public meeting.

Documents attached to the water improvement project are available for public review at the County Commission offices in Carnesville during normal business hours.

The public meeting is a requirement of Georgia’s Rules for Safe Drinking Water and Georgia’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
