Polar Bear Plunge and Winter Festival Set for March 4

The 27th annual Polar Bear Plunge is coming to the Hartwell Marina March 4.

Sponsored by the Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence, the plunge raises money to help women trying to escape domestic violence.

According to Tiffany Holland Baker who organized last year’s jump, it’s a fun event for the entire community that raises money to help women trying to escape domestic violence.

Businesses or organizations are welcome to become sponsors.

In return for your sponsorship, your business name will appear on the back of the event t-shirts, which will be given to each plunger as well as be available for spectators to purchase.

The larger the sponsorship, the larger the font with your business name will be.

And now is the time to sign up to be a jumper and request a packet, fill out the form and get it back to the NE GA Council on Domestic Violence.

You may mail your form in or send it back via email.

Ask your co-workers, family & friends…anyone who would love to see you jump in freezing lake water to sponsor your jump.

Baker said jumpers will also be eligible for prizes in various categories such as best costume and biggest splash.

Now is also the time for vendors to sign up for the event. They are looking for vendors who sell food, arts and crafts, informational booths, kids’ games, etc.

To obtain a packet for jumpers or vendors you can call (706)-377-4884 or email [email protected].
