Northern Judicial Probation Receives State Award

The State Probation office of the Northern Judicial Circuit was recently name Circuit of the Year for 2014.

Chief Probation officer for the circuit, Freddy Pulliam tells WLHR News Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens presented the award to the Northern Circuit at the Department of Corrections Annual Banquet in June.

“The Northern Circuit probation office was nominated out of 49 other circuits from across Georgia, Pulliam said. “This award represents the dedication of the Northern Circuit’s probation officers and staff to public safety.”

The Northern Judicial Circuit includes five Northeast Georgia counties, including Franklin, Hart, Elbert, Madison, and Oglethorpe counties and provides supervision to over 1,300 felony offenders.

The staff also works with other law enforcement, treatment and community resources to supervise and monitor the activities of high-risk offenders.
