Northeast GA Animal Shelter Selling Memorial Bricks

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter Adoption Wing is nearing completion shelter staff have begun a new fundraiser.

Staff are selling memorial bricks and large pavers to lay in the front walkway of the Adoption Wing, according to Shelter Director Tammi Jourdenais.

The Shelter Board and Staff broke ground on the new adoption in March 2022 but construction didn’t get underway until the following year.

However, fundraising to pay for the $500,000 project has been going on for the past three years which has included breakfasts at Longhorn Steakhouse, tattoo events, garage sales, sales of thermal mugs, t-shirts, and other items, and straight monetary donations – all to raise money for the Adoption Wing.

Once completed, dogs that are ready for adoption will be transferred to the adoption wing for the public to view.

Plans also call for an exercise area and area where potential adopters can meet one-on-one with dogs they’re interested in.

You do not have to have adopted a dog or cat from the shelter in order to purchase a memorial brick or paver Jourdenais said.

Again, you can find the link to order a brick or paver on the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter Facebook page or go to polarengraving.com.

If you have questions, you can contact Jourdenais at 705-356-5363.
