North Hart Elementary Earns Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award

Another accolade for a Hart County Charter System school.

On Wednesday the school system announced that North Hart Elementary School has been named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Lighthouse School.

This is the second time North Hart has been named a school of excellence by the organization.

“Receiving the distinction of two-time Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Lighthouse School is a testament to the tradition of hard work and dedication of the students, staff, and community of North Hart,” Principal Haley Smith said. “We are honored and humbled by this award and will strive for continued success as we serve our students.”

In order to be named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, schools must score high in nine key areas.

They include:
· Student Focus and Support
· School Organization and Culture
· Challenging Standards and Curriculum
· Active Teaching and Learning
· Technology and Integration
· Professional Community
· Leadership and Education Vitality
· School, Family, and Community Partnerships
· Indicators of Success

“We are greatly honored to recognize such a deserving school working so
diligently to fulfill the many learning needs of students,” Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence CEO Judith Warden Fields said in her award letter to North Hart Elementary School.

Designation as a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School lasts for five years, at which time the school will be eligible for revalidation.

Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools commit to sharing expertise and exemplary practices with other schools on a local, regional, and national level as well as providing mentoring and networking to schools seeking guidance and assistance in school improvement initiatives.

This award will be officially presented during the Blue Ribbon Schools for Excellence National Conference in Florida at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Convention Center on Friday, December 2.
