North Georgia Technical College Plant Sale Continues

Today is the third day of the annual fall plant sale at North Georgia Technical College’s Clarkesville Campus.  According to Horticulture Instructor Jeff Wilbanks, they’ve sold quite a bit of product.

“We have sold most all of our annuals bedding plants.  So we’re down to trees and shrubs and those things that you put in the fall.  We’ve got a good selection of azaleas, some native azaleas here.  Got some dogwoods.  We have some viburnums, have some chamelas, and a few magnolias.  We just try to have some good, stable southern landscape plants that people are interested in.  And of course with azaleas being the native azaleas, people are really interested in those.  So that’s what we have left.”

Wilbanks says prices range from $8 for some of the shrubs up to $35 for some of the trees.  Cards, cash, and checks are accepted, and all sales must be made in person.

Wilbanks says proceeds from the fall plant sale go towards the purchase of plant materials for classroom instruction as well as funding for student trips to landscape national collegiate competitions.

The North Georgia Technical Greenhouses are located at 1500 Highway 197 North in Clarkesville. For more information, contact Jeff Wilbanks at 706-754-7794.

Final sale hours are today and Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
