North Georgia Tech Offers Free GED Classes for Adults

Adults who want to finish or get their GED can take advantage of free Adult Education Courses offered by North Georgia Technical College.

Adult Education Instructor Bobby Wood works with adult students wanting to get their GED.  He says his goal is to help each student get through the course.

According to Wood students must be 17 years old or 16 years of age with a parent’s signature.

As for the cost, Wood said the adult classes are free and a testing scholarship for the GED exam is also available. Students are accepted throughout the year and can start at any time.

There are several locations where students can go for Adult Education classes. They include the Currahee Campus on Highway 17 and the Franklin County Board of Education offices.

The Adult Education Program is year-round and registration takes place twice a month. Students can start classes anytime during the year.
