North GA Tech Offering Go Build Georgia Scholarships, Grants

North Georgia Technical College is offering scholarships to qualified students and grants to middle and high schools under the new Go Build Georgia High Demand Career Scholarships Program.

Launched by Governor Nathan Deal in 2012, Go Build Georgia is the state’s skilled trade initiative, designed to educate students about career opportunities in manufacturing, telecommunications, film, logistics, construction, and energy.

The program connects students with resources to provide an overview of flexible, well-paying careers in some of Georgia’s fastest-growing industries.

North Georgia Tech is encouraging local middle and high schools to apply for funding up to $500 from the newly established Go Build Georgia Grant Program.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Workforce division recently announced the launch of the grant and scholarship program designed to strengthen Georgia’s skilled-trade workforce through its Go Build Georgia program.

$500 grants will be awarded to applying Georgia middle and high schools throughout each fiscal year.

The Go Build Georgia High Demand Career scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to graduating high school seniors entering a Technical College System of Georgia institution in a field of study that leads to a skilled-trade career.
