No Injuries in Tuesday’s Mobile Home Fire in Lavonia

Lavonia Fire Chief John Baskins said no one was injured in a house fire Tuesday in Lavonia.

It happened Tuesday morning at about 10a on Parkertown Road, which sits on the Franklin/Hart County line. Firefighters from the Lavonia and Line fire departments responded along with the Hart County fire department.

Baskins said when they arrived an abandoned mobile home was completely engulfed in flames.

The home had been abandoned for some years and was surrounded by dry brush and trees and despite Tuesday’s weather alert for extremely dry conditions, Baskins said firefighters were able to get the blaze under control quickly and kept it from spreading.

No one was inside the mobile home at the time of the fire and Baskins said it looked like there may have been squatters living there.

He said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
