No Foul Play Suspected in Death of Canon Couple in January

No foul play is suspected in the tragic death of a Canon couple found deceased in their home.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Jimmy LeCroy tells WLHR News his office received a call on January 20 to investigate after relatives went to the home on Fowler St. to do a welfare check and discovered the bodies.

The couple is identified as 60-year old Nina Bowden and 68-year old Alan Bowden.

Franklin County Coroner Scott O’Barr was called and the home was secured.  O’Barr said right now the cause of their deaths has not been determined.  He said his office is still waiting for the results of toxicology tests on the couple, which he said could take several more weeks.

Their bodies were sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for autopsy then returned to the family for burial.  Funeral services were held last Thursday in Canon.
