New Lavonia Hampton Inn Celebrates Grand Opening

A new upscale hotel in Lavonia is officially welcomed to the community with a ribbon cutting and celebration

“Thank you all for coming to our grand opening today,” owner Riesh Shah told the crowd after the ribbon cutting.

“We’ll we’re just proud to be here,” noted Lavonia Mayor Ralph Owens. “We wish you luck. It’s a nice facility.”

Lavonia Mayor Ralph Owens was one of the many who attended the grand opening Tuesday evening of the new Hampton Inn Hotel.

Chamber and civic leaders from Franklin County and Lavonia, joined Industrial Building Authority Director Frank Ginn and State Rep. Alan Powell in welcoming the new hotel to the community.

Two years ago, owner Ritesh Shah of OM Ventures2, LLC Developers broke ground on the four-story hotel located off SR17 and I-85.

The hotel opened in early summer and Shah said he’s happy to be a part of Lavonia’s growth.

“We want to thank the community for supporting us and hopefully, we are a good addition to the community,” he said.

After the ribbon cutting, Shah opened a conference room and treated guests to a buffet dinner and live music.

Shah also owns the Holiday Inn Express across the street from the Hampton Inn.

He says business at both hotels has been very good so far.
