New Information on Murder of Walhalla Man and Hartwell Suspect

Walhalla Police Chief Tim Rice has released more information on the stabbing death of 43-year old Terrance Boyd last month.

37-year-old, Lakeisha McLendon of Hartwell has been arrested and charged with his murder.

Chief Rice said Wednesday that Boyd and McLendon worked together at a local manufacturing plant in Walhalla and that the relationship extended outside of work.

Walhalla is the county seat of Oconee and has a population below five thousand.

Rice said homicides inside the corporate limits are rare.

Boyd was pronounced dead at a residence on Moore Avenue in Walhalla on Monday, October 17.

Autopsy results showed that Boyd died as a result of a stab wound to his chest.

McLendon is being held in the Oconee County Detention Center on murder charges.

A motive for the murder has not been released.
