Mobile Job Coach in Lavonia, Hartwell This Week

Job CoachJust a reminder for job seekers, the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s Workforce Development Career Coach will be back in our area this week.

The Coach will be visiting the Lavonia-Carnegie Library on Hartwell Road  today  from 10a to 2p.

Then on Thursday, the Career Coach will be in Hartwell at the Adult Learning Center in the Hart County Public Library from 10a to 2p.

Workforce Development Trainer Micah Thomas, says the help is free.

“We assist individuals who may need help coming up with a resume, or who have one but need it critiqued,” he said. “Sometimes navigating the online job market can be confusing, knowing where to apply and how to apply so we help assist job seekers with knowing which sites to go to,” Thomas said.

Thomas reminds people there is a regular schedule that job seekers can access so they know when the coach will be in their town or community.
“For the Lavonia area, we are here on the first Tuesday of the month,” he said. “In Royston, we’ve started a schedule as well. We have a regular rotating schedule with at least eight counties.”
Thomas said it’s easy to find out when the coach will be in your area. You can call the office number at 770-538-2727 or go online to the GMRC Web site where there is a list of all their recurring dates.
The job coach covers all 13 counties in the GMRC region.
Thomas said since the mobile unit has been coming to our area, interest in taking advantage of what it has to offer job seekers continues to grow.
