Mobile Career Coach Will be at Friday’s Career Expo

The Annual Northeast Georgia Career Expo and Job Fair is coming up Friday on the Currahee Campus of North Georgia Tech and now is the time to get your resume ready.

The Job Fair will be held from noon to 3p and dozens of employers will be on hand to accept applications, resumes and conduct interviews.

But if you’re struggling with how to write the perfect resume, there is some free help available.

The Workforce Development Career Coach will be at the Job Fair from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
Workforce Development Trainer Micah Thomas, says the help is free.

“We assist individuals who may need help coming up with a resume, or who have one but need it critiqued,” he said.

The resume workshop on the Career Coach will take place at 11a in preparation for the Job Fair which begins at Noon.  Thomas said the coach will then stay through the end of the job fair to help job seekers broaden their search.

“Sometimes navigating the online job market can be confusing, knowing where to apply and how to apply so we help assist job seekers with knowing which sites to go to,” Thomas said.

And if you are considering changing careers, Thomas said trainers on the coach will be able to help with that also.

“We help assist people who want to change careers but don’t know what to change to,” he said. “We have access to online career assessments and we help them walk through it.”

The Career Coach also offers job seekers information on tuition assistance and on-the-job training programs.

Again, the Career Expo and Job Fair takes place Friday from noon to 3p.  The Career Coach will be on site offering free resume writing help at 11a Friday.
